We have completed a study guide in class. These will go home tomorrow. Important facts to know are: Jackie Robinson, Jimmy Carter, Martin Luther King, Jr., and our U.S. and Georgia capitals. Our test will be Friday. These will complete our grades for Social Studies for this 9 week period.

Spotlight Program
The Spotlight Program for the 2nd nine weeks will be this Thursday, Jan. 26 at 9:05 in the auditorium.
Science/Social Studies
We are about to wrap up our study of important historical figures. We should be ready to test on either Thursday or Friday of next week. We will complete a study guide in class prior to the test. Social Studies grades will be finalized for midterm, which is February 6.
Reptile Show
In conjunction with Whigham’s annual Rattlesnake Roundup, Yarbrough’s Live Reptile Instructional Program will be visiting our school on Friday, Jan. 27 at 8:30. The cost is $2.00 per student.

Report cards for the 2nd 9 weeks went home yesterday. Please sign and return.

Just a reminder that the reading and spelling tests for Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type are scheduled for this Thursday, Jan. 12. Please remember to have your student read aloud their story each time before the test. This improves reading fluency and comprehension.
Also, this 9 weeks will be focusing on opinion writing. We will start with the very basics, since most kids don’t even know what an opinion really means.
