Writing-Mrs. Stewart
We have been working on persuasive writing this nine weeks. I am using the COREO acrostic to help children with the different elements of this writing. Students should follow the COREO order when writing.
C-catchy phrase
O-Opinion (state your opinion) (I believe….)
R-reason 1
E-example 1 (to support your reason) then repeat R and E with reason 2 and example 2) Make sure you use a transition word between reason and example one and reason and example two, so you don’t crash your “writing car.” Transition words may include: secondly, another reason, next, etc.
